This hotel is in a great location from which to explore beautiful Rennes. The staff, be they servicing rooms, working reception or looking after breakfast were all friendly, helpful, professional and had better English than our French which was useful. Room was clean and had all we needed. Highly recommend Rennes and this hotel.
Stayed with my family for 1 night, and it was a perfect stay. Hotel is 5 minute cab from train station, located perfectly to explore the old town. Lots of restaurants nearby, and bakeries for breakfast. Staff was excellent, beds were …
Well located but flooded underground parking without any warning and prevention for coming customer by car. I reported the issue with the staff and response is " this is common and even this time not that much" I had to soak my shoes and …
This is an attractive and well-located hotel. The room was big and comfortable. I guess it should be as we paid a bit more. Anyway, I think it was a good value. The front desk staff were very helpful. The highlight was the really good and varied breakfast. I think for Rennes, it's probably one of the best options.
Picked this hotel due to its proximity to the train station and it was very convenient - just a 10min walk. The hotel itself has had a very selective facelift. The rooms have been renovated but doors, skirting boards and some furniture look to be quite old and worn. The carpet is dark coloured so shows up all the dirt and fluff - it looked like the carpet in the room and the hallway had not been vacuumed in days. Common areas include some games for kids but tiles, some sofas and the lifts look original.
Back to the room and the room door and skirting boards were really dusty. The sheer curtain in our room had a dark stain on it just giving the impression that cleanliness is not a high priority. The bed was super comfortable and the air conditioning worked well which was a relief given the heat outside on this particular weekend. The other positive was that the rooms were very quiet.
The final issue faced was that we changed our reservation from a privilege room to two interconnecting rooms. We were told over the phone that the optional extras available in the privilege room would be made available in our room but sadly this was not the case when we arrived. Similarly there were no interconnecting rooms despite me confirming availability 48 hours ahead of our arrival. The disappointment here was the response from reception that we made these arrangements with the call centre and as such reception staff had no idea about these requests. Passing the blame like that I find highly unprofessional when as a paying customer I simply followed the instructions provided to me on their website. If their internal processes do not allow for this information to be transmitted to the appropriate person then I’m not sure how a customer is to communicate changes with the hotel.
Very central, close to the historic center, shops and restaurants, as well as public transportation and most sites. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast selection. Highly recommend.
Managed to find the hotel easily enough (thanks to GPS) and parked outside to check-in before accessing the car park, which was beautifully cool (at least compared with the temperatures outside). The room was a standard Mercure affair - …
All our experience was positive. The staff were efficient, welcoming and pleasant.
